How to play Mind Games
SOS: pick S or O, then tap an empty square. Completing S-O-S horizontally, vertically or diagonally scores 1 point and gives another move; when the grid is full, the higher score wins. Leaving S _ S or S O _ hands the rival a chance; find the safe square. Nine Men's Morris: each player has 9 stones. First take turns placing stones on empty points; three in a line is a mill and removes a rival stone not in a mill. When all stones are placed, slide to an adjacent empty point; with 3 stones you may fly (optional). A player with 2 stones or no move loses. Reversi: 8×8 board, 4 discs in the middle, black starts. Place a disc so rival discs are flanked at both ends; the ones between flip. You can't play where nothing flips; with no move you pass. When the board is full or both pass, the most discs wins. Modes: Ladder (15 levels per game), Puzzles (30 per game), Daily Puzzle, Free Play (easy/medium/hard bot or two players on one device) and Classroom Mode.
Controls: Tap or click a square, a point or a stone; in SOS pick the letter from the S/O buttons below first. Keyboard works too: arrows and Enter, S/O for letters, H hint, P pause, U undo. On Android the back button pauses the game.

Tips for Mind Games
- In SOS, when you can't score, look for the safe square: if your letter leaves a single gap on a line (S _ S or S O _), the rival fills it and scores. Dead regions of the board are good shelters for the last moves.
- In Morris, during placement prefer the junction points (four neighbours) over the corners; then aim for a double mill, where one stone shuttles between two mills.
- In Reversi, flip few discs early rather than many; leave the squares next to the corners to the rival and take the corner yourself. Start counting discs in the last ten moves.
Why schools play SOS, Morris and Reversi
All three are staples of mind-and-strategy classes because the rules take a minute to learn and years to master. SOS is one of the oldest pen-and-paper classroom games; it teaches looking one move ahead, because every letter you write either hands the rival a chance or doesn't. Nine Men's Morris is a strategy game played for centuries on boards scratched into stone and earth; its placement, sliding and mill phases make planning, defence and resource management concrete. Reversi is the lesson in doing more with less: flipping many discs early usually loses, while holding corners and edges wins. In this game the three classics share one interface, a bot accompanies you on three levels and the hint button explains the reason behind each move, so students learn a way of thinking rather than a rule. Classroom mode exists exactly for that: big pieces on the projector, two teams and a scoreboard.
Ladder, puzzles and the daily puzzle
Progress in Mind Games has three layers. The ladder is 15 steps per game: on the first steps the bot looks one move ahead and errs often, on the last it looks six moves ahead and never errs; the SOS board grows from 5×5 to 10×10, the flying rule switches on in Morris and Reversi moves from 6×6 to 8×8. Each step won gives 1-3 stars, and stars unlock board themes. The puzzle layer offers 30 set positions per game, each verified by the engine to have exactly one right move: SOS in one, double SOS, the safe move; complete the mill, block, double threat, trap; flip the most, take the corner, force a pass, win the endgame. The daily puzzle is the return hook: the same position for everyone, the three games in rotation, a day streak and a shareable result card. Breaking the streak carries no penalty; you simply start again the next day. If that is what you are looking for in a brain game, all three are on one page.
Where to play Mind Games
Mind Games: frequently asked questions
How many players is SOS?
Two. Here you play against the computer on three levels or two players on one device; in classroom mode two teams compete.
How do you win Nine Men's Morris?
Reduce the rival to 2 stones or leave them without a move. Every mill (three in a line) removes one rival stone; a double mill, where one stone moves back and forth between two mills, is the strongest pattern.
Are Reversi and Othello the same game?
The rules are the same; Othello is the trademarked name with a fixed starting position. This game starts on an 8×8 board with four discs placed diagonally in the middle, and black moves first.
How does the hint work?
The hint button highlights the move the bot would play and explains the reason in one sentence. No ad is required; only in puzzles does using a hint reduce the reward to 1 star.
What is the daily puzzle?
The same position for everyone each day, rotating through SOS, Morris and Reversi. Solving it keeps your streak; you can share the result as a picture card with stars and streak.
Will I lose my progress?
Stars, puzzles, badges and streaks are stored in the browser and continue on the same device and browser.
