How to play Okey Table

The tiles are shuffled, dice are rolled and the indicator is revealed. The okey is the next number in the indicator's colour (1 after 13); it stands for any tile and carries a small star. The fake okey plays as the okey tile's own value. The first player gets 15 tiles, everyone else 14. On your turn, draw a face-down tile from the middle or take the tile the player on your left just discarded, then discard one tile; you always hold 14. A run is three or more consecutive tiles of one colour (12-13-1 is valid), a set is three or four tiles of the same number in different colours, a pair is two identical tiles. To finish, arrange all 14 tiles into runs and sets and drop the 15th tile into the "Finish" zone in the middle; seven pairs also finish a hand. Scoring: everyone except the finisher drops; a normal finish 2 points, finishing with the okey tile 4, a pairs finish 4, pairs finished with the okey 8. Below zero you leave the table; the last player standing wins. If the middle runs out of tiles, the hand is a draw.

Controls: Drag tiles to arrange your rack; tap the stock to draw, drag or tap a tile to discard, tap the pile on your left to take it. "Sort Runs" and "Sort Sets" group the tiles for you, and completed runs and sets get a green frame. Touch, mouse and keyboard are supported; on Android the back button pauses the game.

Tips for Okey Table

  1. Keep the okey for the end. The wild tile fits anywhere; instead of spending it early, hold it for the last gap in your hand. If you can throw the okey as your 15th tile, opponents lose twice as much.
  2. Count the discards. There are two copies of every number in every colour. If both copies of the tile you need are already in the discard piles, give up on that run; "Sort Sets" shows at a glance which numbers you are missing.
  3. Watch the left, starve the right. Anything you take from the pile tells everyone what you collect, so avoid discarding neighbours of the tiles the player on your right has picked up. New to Turkish rummy? Start at level 1 on the Free Table and climb one level at a time.

How okey works, a short guide

Okey is a tile rummy for four players with racks and a wild tile chosen by chance. After the shuffle and the dice roll, one tile is turned over: the indicator. The next number in the indicator's colour becomes the okey, a wild tile that stands for anything; the okey of 13 is 1. Two fake okey tiles carry the okey's own value, so if the indicator is blue 6, the okey is blue 7 and a fake okey also plays as blue 7.

The first player starts with 15 tiles and discards without drawing. Each following player draws from the middle or takes the tile discarded on their left, then discards. The goal is to arrange 14 tiles into runs and sets: a run is at least three consecutive tiles of one colour, a set is three or four tiles of the same number in different colours. When your hand is complete you throw the 15th tile face down; seven pairs also finish. Okey Table frames completed sets in green and alerts you when you can finish.

The fair deal and scoring

The most common complaint about okey apps is "the game lets whoever it wants win". Okey Table answers with a method. Every hand is shuffled from a 32-bit seed, and the seed appears as a 7-character code when the hand ends. The same code always produces the same deal: "Replay this deal" gives you exactly the same tiles, and a friend with the code plays the very same hand. The deal is never touched during play, and the engine keeps exactly two copies of every tile.

Scoring is the classic countdown. Everyone starts at 20; everyone except the finisher drops: 2 for a normal finish, 4 when the finisher throws the okey tile, 4 for seven pairs, 8 for pairs finished with the okey. With the indicator bonus on, a player who discards the indicator's twin in the first round makes every opponent pay one point. Anyone below zero leaves the table. A career table lasts until one player remains or five hands; the highest score takes the table.

Where to play Okey Table

Okey Table: frequently asked questions

Can I play okey offline?

Yes. After the page opens in your browser it makes no network requests. There is no server, no account and no online opponent; all three opponents are bots running on your device.

Is the deal fair? Can "three blue 11s" appear?

No. The rules engine holds exactly two copies of every tile and the deal comes from a seeded, deterministic shuffle. When a hand ends you see the seed code, and the same code always produces the same deal.

Do the bots see my tiles?

No. Bots use only public information: the discards, who took what from the pile and how many tiles remain. They never read the deck, your rack or each other's tiles, and a test proves their decisions depend only on public information.

Which okey rules are used?

Classic okey: 106 tiles, indicator and okey, runs, sets, pairs, finishing with 14 tiles or seven pairs, counting down from 20 points. The indicator bonus, the 13-1-2 run and the okey in pairs can be toggled in settings. 101 okey is coming later.

Is it free? Are there chips or purchases?

Free. No chips, money, shop, loot boxes or purchases. Table cloths, tile sets and badges unlock only by playing. Ads are never shown during play.

What is the Daily Deal?

One hand dealt from the same seed for everyone each day. The goal is to finish it in the fewest turns; share the result with one tap and keep your day streak going.
