How to play Pasyans (Solitaire)

Klondike: build columns down (King to Ace) in alternating colors. Foundations go up from Ace to King in one suit. Only a King may fill an empty column. Tap the stock to turn 1 or 3 cards; when it is empty the waste is turned over. FreeCell: all cards are face up. The four free cells are temporary parking spots. You can move (free cells + 1) × 2^(empty columns) cards at once; the number is shown at the top of the screen. Spider: build down in rank, but only same-suit runs move together. A full King-to-Ace run in one suit leaves the table. You cannot deal from the stock while a column is empty.

Controls: Drag a card, or tap it and then tap the target. Double tap sends a card to the foundation. The bottom bar has undo, hint and, when the work is done, "Finish". Keyboard: U undo, H hint, space draws. On Android the back button pauses the game.

Tips for Pasyans (Solitaire)

  1. In Klondike, make the move that reveals a face-down card first; revealed cards win games, not long columns. Send Aces and Twos up immediately, but do not rush higher cards.
  2. In FreeCell an empty column is worth more than a free cell: an empty column doubles the run you can move. Prefer moves that empty cells over moves that fill them.
  3. In Spider, build same-suit runs; a card placed on a different suit locks that column later. Tidy every column before dealing and fill an empty column only as a last resort.

Klondike, FreeCell or Spider: which one is for you?

When people say "play solitaire" they usually mean Klondike: 7 columns, face-down cards and a stock to draw from. There is luck involved; even a good deal can lock up because of hidden cards, which is why a share of classic Klondike deals cannot be won. Pasyans removes that uncertainty: every Klondike deal has been checked by the solver, with draw 1 and draw 3 verified separately. FreeCell is the opposite; all cards are face up, there is no luck, and almost every deal can be solved. For players who like planning, FreeCell is a chess problem with cards. Spider solitaire asks for patience and order: you sort 104 cards into same-suit runs; 1 suit is for learning, 2 suits for daily play, 4 suits for experts. All three share the same interface and the same original card art.

Daily deal and challenges: making solitaire a habit

The pleasure of solitaire is in repetition. The daily deal gives everyone the same three deals each day; warm up with Klondike draw 3, think with FreeCell, test your patience with 2-suit Spider. Finishing even one keeps your day streak alive and lets you share a result card; when a streak breaks there is no penalty, a new streak simply starts the next day. For a longer road there are challenge packs: 50 deals per game, ordered from easy to hard by the solver's own difficulty measure. The Klondike pack starts with short deals, the FreeCell pack ends with the deals the solver struggled with most, and the Spider pack moves from 1 suit to 4 suits. Every deal has a target move count; finish below it for three stars. You can replay any deal and share its code. Wins unlock new table cloths and card backs; nothing is sold, and the game stays calm.

Where to play Pasyans (Solitaire)

Pasyans (Solitaire): frequently asked questions

Is solitaire free to play here?

Yes. There are no purchases, coins or waiting timers. No ads appear during a deal and the daily deal is completely ad-free.

Is every deal really solvable?

All Klondike, FreeCell and Spider deals are checked by the game's solver before they are dealt. A deal the solver cannot verify within its time limit is never dealt; for a deal code you enter yourself, the badge appears only after verification finishes.

When does the daily deal change?

At midnight in your device's local time. Everyone gets the same three deals on the same day; the result card shows time, moves and stars.

What is a deal code?

Every deal has a 7-character code. Anyone who enters the same code plays the same deal, so you can race a friend on the same deal.

Why can't I deal in Spider?

Classic rule: you cannot deal from the stock while a column is empty. Put a card or run in the empty column, then deal.

Will I lose my progress?

Statistics, daily results, streaks and an unfinished deal are stored in your browser; on the same device and browser you continue where you left off.
